Glad I chose Hotel Metropol

Pros: We liked the friendliness and helpfulness of all the front desk staff. We liked that we could not hear our neighbors and that we could open our window
Cons: Improve English TV channels
Location: Fabulous location- Hop on the train or bus and go anywhere. Walk through a park to a street filled with shops and a museum that leads to downtown.
Small hotel located in heart of Basel. The hotel is within easy walking distance to downtown. Basel is so safe that people walk and bike at all hours. Some of downtown is off limits to vehicles. On Sundays when the stores are closed families come out to stroll. Transportation is just outside the door and the hotel provides you with free passes. (A short ride would cost you about $2.50) The train station has an ATM and a grocery with great hours. Cafes and shops just outside your door. The staff is fabulous and the hotel is spotless!
