"Perfect choice, amazing views"
This was probably one of the hardest hotel choices I have had to make in all our travels just because I don't know Tokyo at all, and it seemed daunting. Chose this based on reviews and location...and could not have been happier with it! We were staying just three nights on our way to a long vacation in the South Pacific, so we wanted something fairly central, in walking distance to shops/restaurants/subways, and (key for us, mid-trip) comfortable. This was all of those. After exploring the city, we looked forward to coming back to our lovely, quiet room each night and having a drink by the windows that offered a stunning view of the city. We had not booked a "renovated" room, but got one anyway -- it was a good size (for Tokyo), modern and stocked with great bath products, a nice assortment of coffees and teas, bottled water, and comfy bedding. There are vending machines on each floor and a small shop for snacks and essentials in the lobby. As others have noted, you will need to handle your own luggage here, but there are carts available to help. There is no concierge but the front desk quickly booked us a tour our first day and arranged for our airport shuttle pickup (it stops right at the hotel -- a big plus). We did not try the hotel restaurants since there were so many good options just outside the doors (the adjacent malls have entire floors of restaurants, and there are breakfast places on the block), but the bar menu looked appealing (if pricey).

"Short visit"
I decided to visit Tokyo on a whim; after a horrendous flight involving flight cancellations, flight delays, misconnections and lost baggage... it was a relief to check into the hotel with no problems. The concierge was excellent in giving me directions to the shuttle and department stores where I could buy the necessities. The lobby staff spoke English and were very polite when I tried to speak Japanese. I was surprised by the size of the room, it was larger then I expected for Tokyo. My only complaint is that I happened to see the message light when my luggage was finally delivered. I would have also liked to have heard the phone ring. The hotel restaurants are expensive but I recommend the Sunday brunch! I opted for that before I left for the airport and left stuff. I have Hilton Honors so I did have free wireless internet connection in my room. I will most likely return here.

"Quiet hotel"
Hotel is located in the Government District. Very quiet area which meant not many places to eat nearby. 5-10 minute walk to the subway or to a main street with restaurants. Hotel restaurants and convenience store VERY expensive. Great sushi but expensive. Older style rooms and decor in the lobby. It said free internet on the website but didn't mention only if your laptop accepts an internet cable - doesn't work for an IPad. $20 a day for wireless router to use WiFi in the room.

"Absolutely the BEST hotel I've ever stayed at!!!"
My friend and I went to Tokyo for a 2 week vacation back in July. Needless to say, this hotel caught our attention and we wanted to stay here for our vacation. Let me just say, that we were INSANELY happy with our stay. The staff was very friendly, the rooms were very clean, the view was simply breathtaking of the tower right outside of our room, and there was a lot of stuff to do in general at the hotel. Staff spoke English very well, and they made us feel very comfortable that we were staying there. In the end, I could write several pages about our hotel experience, but in short, I will just say this. If you ever consider a hotel in downtown Tokyo, absolutely consider this hotel. I know we will definitely stay here again if we ever can go back to Tokyo. :)

"Comfortable with a great view of the Tokyo Skyline"
When I booked the vacation through Travelocity, I specified 2 adults and 2 children 9 years and 11 years. Usually the hotel would have 2 queen (or at least double) beds that could comfortably fit the four of us. When we checked into the hotel, the desk clerk looked at the 4 of us and asked, "Four???" We took a look at the room, and there was no way that even two kids would fit into one of their beds, let alone 2 adults or an adult and a child. There was also no space in the room for a cot. We ended up paying almost full rack rate for an extra room, which erased all savings we had making a booking through Travelocity.  Not the fault of the hotel, but Travelocity should have at least parameters that show that two 3-foot wide beds would not fit a family with 2 kids, even if they are under 12!! Big fail on the part of Travelocity. The hotel itself is wonderful - great location, comfortable, friendly service, and mostly English speaking staff. At booking, we opted for an upgraded corner room which has huge windows and a great view of the city. The second (expensive) room we got was tiny, had a tiny window, and cramped for two adults. The hotel is right next to the Shiodome subway station, and walking distance to the much larger Shimbashi station. Food is plentyful within 10mins walk, so we only ate breakfast the first morning at the hotel while orientating ourselves in Tokyo. As the Tsukiji Fish market is just 15 mins walk away, and breakfast there starts at 3am in the morning, jetlagged vacationers will find the Park Hotel Tokyo to be a great location to explore Tokyo from.
