"Beautiful Resort, excellent staff!"
Took my fiance' who had never been to Mexico. I had not stayed at this resort before, but would love to come back again. Resort is beautiful, well kept, and the staff is more than willing to do whatever it takes to make you comfortable. The bed was a bit hard for me, and so we mentioned it at the front desk. About 20 minutes later there was a knock at the door and the housekeeper came in to place a padded topper on the bed. We were very surprised, but then about 20 minutes after that we received a call from the front desk asking if the padded topper had been put on, and if that didn't help to let them know and they would see what else they could do. The choices for dinner were Italian, Indian, Asian, French, Mexican and what they called the Lobster House, so having a variety of good food was never a problem. They had a different type of show every night starting at 9pm, and they were all very entertaining. And during the afternoons and evenings before the shows there were a variety of different bands playing around the resort. The staff made you feel welcome, like they already knew you and never acted as if you were an inconvenience to them. Wonderful resort, and we will go again.

"Very Nice stay at the VIM"
I don't have room for comparison as this was our first time to an AI. Food was great, the staff was very accommodating, the resort was clean and manicured. at any point in time somewhere on the resort gardeners were trimming the trees of coconuts and dead leaves. I guess a coconut on the head wouldn't be much of a good time. :) I would recommend anyone to go here. The beach restaurant was my favorite.

"It's ok"
Most Staffs are very friendly , of course there are people expect u to pay extra tips, it's expectable, their salaries are low. It's a clean hotel, but I think bc of the climate and nature environemnts there, there are a lot insects. The worst thing about the hotel is the Japanese restaurant, we tried the cooking show and sushi, both times we are disappointed about the foods. Overall, it's good hotel, except i dont like the duvet cover that they use in my junior suite, its not cotton and too hot, every morning i wake up sweating even the AC was on all night, totally dont recommend theJapanese restaurant and i wish the hotel decoration more grand.

"Third visit - Superb resort still, food was lacking this time"
Just returned from our 3rd visit in 3 years to Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso. Don't get me wrong, this hotel is the epitome of luxury and cannot be beat in the Riviera Maya/Cancun area. To make this easier for everyone, I'll list the pros and cons for this visit: PROS: Service was impeccable. Even better than the last two stays. None of the staff ever said "NO" to any request we had. For instance, if a bartender didn't know how to make a drink, they found out and brought it to us. If my wife wanted a special dish that wasn't on the menu, it was prepared for her. If we wanted 10 bottles of water delivered to the room each night, it was done with a smile. The grounds are gorgeous and well manicured as ever. Top shelf liquor was more than abundant and available at all the bars. Star Friends were exceptionally friendly and took time to talk to the guests. We learned a lot about them. Amazingly, Eder remembered our names from our previous two visits. The rooms were immaculate. Maid service and turndown service was incredible. Not a piece of dust could be found anywhere. Overall, the staff was incredibly friendly. Especially Olivia, one of the chefs. She remembered us from previous visits as well. One day, my wife wasn't feeling well and didn't want lunch. Olivia prepared her a bowl of plain white rice with some carrots just so she would eat something. It was such a nice touch. The rest of the staff was always smiling and willing to assist with anything one could possibly need. CONS: The food has gone downhill severely! We were blown away by the food at all 4 restaurants and the buffets during out last visit in September 2011. This time, we were very disappointed and actually lost weight for a 6 day stay at an all-inclusive. The Italian was inedible as everything was cooked in either a cream or butter sauce. The lamb was hard and had no taste. Japanese was dull, with the quality of the sushi tasting somewhat downgraded from our last visit. The Gourmet too was not up to par, especially as this was our favorite the last 2 visits. The french onion soup tasted like bathwater, the lamb again was hard and had no taste. The other dishes our party had were all sent back or not eaten. The breakfast buffet was still pretty good, although they really need to change the options every few days...its the same food over and over. Of all the restaurants, Tony's was the best--with the steaks, scallops, and fish all being cooked perfectly and very tasty. Still, overall, we were very disappointed in the food, and might not come back for a 4th visit because of it. There was more a problem getting lounge chairs by the pool during this visit. After 8am, all the cabanas were taken (with nobody sitting in them, just books reserving them), and after 9am, all the other chairs were taken. The resort really needs to monitor this and remove towels that have not been used after a certain amount of time. Overall, the visit was great and we enjoyed every moment of it. The food was a big disappointment, but we tried to not let it ruin our trip. I would still recommend this resort out of all the other 5 star resorts in Riviera Maya. Hopefully, the resort will invest in better quality food and/or change their menus.

"Extraordinary!"
My wife and I booked our stay at the Royal Haciendas Resort pretty last minute, maybe a month in advance. Once we arrived at the hotel we were completely amazed! This place is absolutely beautiful, inside and out. We were assigned our room when we checked in so we didn't know what we were going to get but we were very happy with our room assignment and we didn't have to change rooms on Saturday. The room didn't have much of an "ocean view" like the online description, but since our room was facing phase 1 most of the mature palm trees block our view of the ocean. Not a big deal though because the grounds are BEAUTIFUL! We were very happy with our view. The 1 bedroom room was huge, well big enough for the wife and I and our 5 year old twins. Everyone from the front desk employees to the housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful, especially since nor the wife or I speek a lick of spanish. Language barrier was never a problem. Now, the food. Absolutely no complaints. Being residents of Kansas, our availability of good seafood is hard to come by without spending 150 dollars or more and the resort had plenty of variety to choose from. Big big fan of the grouper wrap at the poolside bar and grill. The beach was very clean and well maintained with more than enough chairs for everybody. We never had and issue finding chairs on the beach. We highly recommend this resort to anyone and plan to come back. Thanks so much Royal resorts!
