We has such a blast staying at the Riu! The hotel was clean, staff was friendly, and the food/alcohol were great! We're already planning another girls trip for next summer!

"First All Inclusive - Excited to go back!!"
This was my first experience at an all inclusive resort and my first time at a beach in Mexico. This was a girls trip so I was concerned about the safety. Upon arrival to the gated, locked resort my fears were put to rest. Check was easy which included adding a guest to our reservation. Drinks were served to us while we checked in. The staff was very nice and fun to talk with. We had two rooms with patios and ocean views. The rooms were clean and well taken care of. The swimming pools were gorgeous!! There was one incident the first night with a drunk guest and there were security guards leading him off within seconds. We don't even know where they came from!! The food was wonderful and abundant. I had a massage while I was there and it was great as well. There are activities during the day and shows at night. There is a nightclub for dancing that opens at 11pm. I am excited to schedule a trip to come back with my family!

"2nd stay at Grand Solomar."
Our second stay at the Grand Solomar was not long after the hurricane so it is hard to compare it to the first trip. But taking all the hurricane issues into consideration it was still a great stay. Beautiful grounds, love the rooms and we like the location as it is within walking distance of the marina. I will be excited when they have a spa and fitness center at the Grand Solomar as that is a minor inconvenience. The first time we stayed there a year earlier, it seemed a little more upscale based on the clientele and noise levels. Not sure if that was due to the cheaper rates post the hurricane or what. All in all though a great stay!

"A very nice facility, in a beautiful location!"
Staff was very annoying. I did not realize this was an ownership facility. They were constantly after us to take a 90 minute tour. When trying to locate the check in counter, and after expressing that we were not interested in a tour, we were passed off to another staff member who would get us checked in. He sneakily ended up trying to convince us to take a tour after 10 minutes with him. We were approached at least 4 times! I hesitate to return or recomend this beautiful place because of it.

"Older hotel but very well kept"
We were very pleased with the3 hotel and most of the staff. Food was excellent! Be sure to make dinner reservations. Without them they will not seat you even if the restaurant is over 1/2 empty!!! Time share people are a pain! Overall, I would definitely go back.

"Family of 5 Cabo / Playa Grande vacation"
Everything about our Cabo vacation exceeded our expectations, form the Playa Grande resort to the city of Cabo and all of the activities. The resort is as the name implies huge but there was enough (very friendly) staff to keep the grounds beautiful and all of our requests were handled almost immediately. There was construction during our stay but considering that there had been a hurricane only a few months before we're not complaining. One of the most refreshing things about PG is the event staff, Humberto, Roberto, Rose, Louis, and Itsel (spelling?) they are all terrific. They hosted Tequila volleyball, The Mexican Fiesta and the Beach Party etc. Cabo itself was wonderful as well, there are dozens of activities, countless restaurants, shops and not to mention just simply enjoying the ocean. We tried numerous places to eat and didn't have a bad meal the whole week. Most of the time we walked to and from the PG and of course the farther you travel from the marina the cheaper things were. Later in the week we would grab a taxi occasionally, as flip flop fatigue set in. All of the activities we were able to do were terrific as well. Whale watching, para-sailing and a couple of water taxis and yes everything is negotiable. My only complaints were the constant sales pitches and if you take a taxi, hold on. In a nut shell if you're on the fence about Cabo of the Playa Grande, I would strongly recommend both. I know everyone in my family cannot wait to go again.

"A lovely hotel"
The room was wonderful, really a studio apartment without a kitchen. Queen bed, living room area, all tile bath with sunken shower, and garden patio overlooking the courtyard complete with string hammock and cafe table for two. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious and relatively reasonably priced. My wife also liked the new, since December 2011, jewelry store off the lobby, which she says has some very unique items.
