"Generally excellent, but a couple of criticisms"
Large, beautiful room with a view of patio and fountain with some hills in the distance
Breakfast buffet comes with room and is super with lots of fresh fruit, made to order omelets, nice waffles, bacon, sausage assortments of breads, bagels, cheeses, sweet rolls. Coffee and juice served. Staff friendly and helpful. As a "regular' for several days, I got acquainted with a waitress, very attentive and friendly. Grab a pair of sunglasses, the morning paper and people watch to your hearts content. Gratuity included. Sunday brunch only $18 extra.
Love the self park, integral to the building. Makes it easy to come and go without waiting for valet. Always easy to find a parking spot and an easy walk to your room. Parking is $40/day, but as LA parking goes, fairly reasonable.
This location is super if you like to walk. A safe few blocks walk will get you to high end shopping of Saks, Nieman, and Rodeo Drive.
My only complaints are a fairly high noise level in the fourth floor room that I occupied coming from building's heating cooling system. Some might like the "white noise" but I just turned the whole system off. The other complaint was a fairly poor TV channel selection-- hardly equivalent to "basic" cable. FOX News not on directory, have to call the desk. Reason??? It is Channel 50. Big flat screen swing arm TVs, but no Turner Classic Movies in a hotel with photos of iconic Hollywood stars everywhere? A 4 star hotel should do better.
