"I felt part of China of their culture."
I loved the hotel. Before choosing it, I read many of the reviews and the only common complain was the the bed was hard. I tend to like that, so I was very comfortable. But it is true. If you like a very soft bed, perhaps this is not the hotel for you. On the other hand, you would be missing the other great aspect of the hotel. It is quiet. It feels like home. People try hard to make you feel welcome and comfortable. They are very helpful. And on top of that, you are living in an old Chinese house. I have the fortune of knowing a family in China. When they came to see me at the hotel, they told me that nor even Chinese people get to live like this, in these kind of places. Every one in the family wanted to try the bed. It was the first time for them.
Don't get fooled by "old" Chinese house. Yes, it is old, but it has all of the conveniences of a new hotel and great bathrooms, with the added perk of not having to wait for an elevator, feeling crowded, or having a lot of traffic right outside the door.
I also liked the fact that the breakfast and Wi-Fi were included. They also have an airport pick up service, which I found convenient, since in order to get to the hotel, a car has to go through the pedestrian street and not every taxi wants to do that. The price is almost double than that of a taxi, but I found it worth it.
The hotel is really next to a pedestrian street filled with shops and restaurants. It is in the old part of the city, so you really feel like you have gone back in time in some way. It is very different from the modern Beijing.
I have shown pictures of the place to my family and everyone wants to go there. I, for one, would go back without thinking about it twice, if my luck takes me again to Beijing.
