"Great location"
This hotel is located at an extremely convenient convergence of streets and metro lines. We had a room with a view of the circle, which I would recommend. The pool was not open, but looked like it would be a nice place to hang out, above the street level. Concierge was friendly and helpful. Parking is convenient at the hotel, but costs $25 extra a day. A well stocked shop is located in the hotel. The room was very comfortable with a large dressing area outside of the bathroom.

"Well maintained historic hotel"
A lovely small inn in a historic building, close to Dupont Circle. Very well maintained, spacious room with comfortable furnishings, bathroom was updated, but quite small. Attached dressing/closet area was fine, but the door between the bedroom and the dressing area had been removed. Unfortunately, the lights in the bathroom and the dressing area were on the same switch, so if we used the bathroom at night, the light in the dressing area also came on, lighting up the entire bedroom. We had to use our flashlights to keep from waking each other up with bright lights.

"Great Location, Valet Parking Only "
We chose the Carlyle Dupont Circle because, according to Travelocity, we could get free parking. I even called Travelocity to verify the free parking. Unfortunately, the only parking offered is valet parking at $42/day. Except for that unpleasant surprise, we liked the Carlyle Dupont Circle for its excellent location, just north of Dupont Circle. Travelocity should verify what is being promised. My complaint to Travelocity has elicited no reply (after 48 hours).

"Beautiful hotel with huge rooms "
Hotel was beautiful, we stayed in a room with a king bed. The room was much larger than we expected. The mattress was amazing, we didn't want to go home back to sleep on our bed. 2 flat screen tvs- one on the bed side of the room and one across the other side of the room where the couch, desk and refrigerator were. We were on the 7th floor and unfortunately our view was a brick wall next door for the most part. Staff was very accommodating and friendly.

"Great hotel, Great staff, Great location"
I love this hotel. The room was a bit small, but we had everything we needed. We got a suite, and were able to save a ton of money because we cooked meals in the room instead of eating out. The staff was so nice to us. The hotel is in a really great location. You can walk to the White House in 15 minutes. The price of parking is high, but the convenience of parking it at the hotel for the entire week, and using the Metro-rail, was worth the price to us. Driving around D.C. is no joke. All in all, a great week!

"Birthday Surprise for my Boyfriend"
I booked this weekend trip for my boyfriend's 29th birthday. We live in Delaware and have been to DC many times but it was always with someone (a friend or a family member) and we realized that we had not had the chance to go there alone and just do what we wanted to do. I loved the red and black accents. These are my favorite colors and I love modern design and furniture so this hotel was right up my alley.

"Perfect location for sightseeers"
Wonderful 8-night stay. Few hotels in area offer free breakfast, but this one does along with free snacks at dinnertime. We took full advantage of this because dining out in DC is very expensive. Happy hour snacks included a couple of hot dishes and hot & cold sides, in addition to the usual cheese, crackers, and veggie trays. The award-winning chef on staff contributed to these offerings far exceeding our mediocre expectations, and we frequently made this our evening meal. They also had bottled water & soft drinks available free of charge 24/7. These features alone easily saved us $75/day for our family of 3. The staff working this area was extremely helpful, as was the concierge when we asked for sightseeing advice. All the staff we encountered were very professional. Location is about a 5-min walk from the Capitol bldg, 5-10 min from Union Station metro stop, and 10-15 min from the National Mall. Unless you are elderly or have other physical limitations, you can pretty easily walk to most of the major sightseeing attractions. Only twice all week did we take transportation other than walking or the Metro, one of which was a day trip to Mount Vernon. (My Fitbit was on fire!) 😉 We won't hesitate to stay there again if/when we make a return trip.
