"Surprisingly nice, cean and quiet room"
Enjoyed our stay.  Just used the hotel for the cheap room, didn't eat in the restaurants.  The Comedy show was a bonus which we quite enjoyed

"Better than expected!"
Read many reviews here of this hotel and was worried going in, but spent a great week. If you are looking for marble bathrooms or 2 room suites go to Bellagio or Caesars Palace or Aria, but if you are looking for a clean room with a GREAT pool them this is your place. Yes we smelled the "chemical" odor that many have written about but to us it smelled clean, it means they were cleaning! Yes it smells ALOT of cigarette smoke, but that is The fault of the smokers, not Excalibur. Yes there are salespeople at every entrance but if you politely say no thank you they let you on your way.The Excalibur is nothing fancy but it gets the job done at a very reasonable price. We plan on staying there again next time!

"Business trip/Family vacation"
My husband had an interview the first weekend in December, and we decided to make a family trip out of it. I had heard that Circus Circus is a good place if you have kids. I really appreciate that the hotel is a bit north of most of the action on the Strip, so we didn't have a lot of noise or heavy traffic to worry about. The hotel entrance is a bit difficult to find at first, but once you get your bearings it is easy to get around. Check-in was swift and trouble-free (the young lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful; I am very sorry that I cannot remember her name). We had reserved a room in the West Tower, but were given a courtesy upgrade to the Casino Tower. Our room was quite spacious and clean. My kids enjoyed the circus acts on the Midway (we saw a clown and a pair of stunt skaters). Our stay was very enjoyable, except for one big thing our second night. My husband reported in the morning that he had been unable to sleep much due to a LOT of noise in the room next door. The connecting door doesn't keep any noise out! Luckily it was the night after my husband's interview, and the kids slept through the whole thing (otherwise, my husband would have alerted management). Check-out was, again, quick and worry-free, thanks to the helpful young man at the Mail/Information desk. Las Vegas is not our family's preferred vacation spot, but this was a fun trip and if we are in town again, we will return to Circus Circus.

"Christmas in Las Vegas"
We stayed 5 nights at the Luxor, in Las Vegas. Out of every hotel it was our favorite. It was clean, the staff were friendly and it was easy to navigate. The Luxor is wide open and has a great layout unlike other hotels that force you through the casino. See the Titanic Exhibit!! The Luxor is older and could use some updating. We stayed in the Tower on the 16th floor with views of the Mountains. Rori, who worked on the Casino floor was wonderful. She showed us how to use the machines, as this was our first time gambling. The Irish Pub in the shopping district between Excalibur and Luxor is a must visit! Also, if your looking for fun and interactivity see the Tournament of Kings, it was amazing!! Oh, and sit in the Dragon section. Le Reve at the Wynn was the most fantastic show. Expensive but the best production show in Las Vegas. For your last night eat at the, 'On the Top Restaurant' at the Stratosphere Hotel. Amazing views, amazing food paired with wine. Tips: Play My Vegas! Use the vouchers as much as possible and bring a few extra. Sometimes even after reading the fine print, they can't be vouchered. The $20 Tip Trick worked! Look it up on Youtube. Almost everywhere you go professional Photographers ask to take your pic for a buck. It's super expensive! The biggest Photography company in Las Vegas is Cashman Photo. Let them take your photo and get the receipt with barcode. This will allow you to order them online for a 3rd of the cost. Have Fun!

"Nice hotel for adults, not children friendly."
General Hotel and Casino was great. Everyone was super friendly. McCalls restaurant was really good. Gift shops, shoe shine, pool, and slot machines are what we used. All worked out great. One slot took $3 from us and didnt register on the slot machine, were treated as if we were lying. It was only $3 so we didnt care, but it is what it is. Also, all power went out in the slots near the Central elevators or about 5 minutes. Luckily we hadnt put money in the slots yet. Nobody came to check on people that were currently playing, which kind of surprised me. Would never eat at the buffet again. Took 15 minutes to get drinks, and only because I called a manager over. They were extremely short staffed (Monday night). Im also shocked they only had 2 live shows. We here they were good but we didint go to them since we wanted to see other shows at other hotels. All in all, I give this hotel and experience 4 stars. We stayed 5 days and only had a few hiccups along the way. The rooms were clean, we also had a strip view and we didnt even pay for the upgrade. The only reason we will not stay at the Stratosphere is due to the distance it takes to get to the main part of the strip. We spent probably $150 in taxi cabs over 4 full days. We didnt take kids with us on this trip, but we did check out the arcade, which was small at best. Nothing really else for kids to do there besides the pool.

"Flamingo a long-time favorite"
The Flamingo isn't as big as some Vegas properties, but that can be a plus -- it doesn't take ten minutes to get to your elevator. The casino is relatively small but quite lively and most of the time they have $5 tables, which is handy for cheapskates like me.  I like the spa, too -- again, not as big as some but a nice place to relax between bouts of gambling and/or people-watching.

There are only positive things to say about our very short stay. We want to come back! It's nice that there's no casino, but we did miss not having a restaurant. Very nice, clean, spacious rooms. And the staff was superb. Thanks!
