"Elegant historic ambiance"
I knew from the moment we arrived we made the right choice. Loved the grand staircase! Room was cahrming, original wood floors, clawfoot tub and black and white checkerboard tile floor in bath, comfy bed. Bell staff noticed we had our bikes in the back of our van and offered to store them for us, suggested a route for an early morning ride. One reason we chose this hotel was its proximity to Starbucks, the meeting place for the family friendly ghost tour. Close to restaurants, shops, everything!

"East Bay Inn and Savannah"
My wife and I recently stayed at this great old Inn. The location was great, just across the street from the riverwalk, and around 5 blocks from the City Market center. The room was clean and full of character. Wood floors, exposed brick, antique furnishings. The staff was warm and inviting. Each evening they have complementary wine and snacks in the lobby, a great way to meet other guest's and share experiences. Breakfast is also included. Our room cost $less then it would have cost to stay across the street! Restaurants - I didn't eat at the hotel, but some other guest's that we met at one of the wine receptions said it was great. I recommend that if you can, you have to try a place called Mrs. Wilks, this place was the bomb. Only open 11am to 2pm, Monday thru Friday, and you have to get there early, a line forms quick for this place, but it is worth the wait. One thing about Savannah (and the south in general) is that the people are friendly and proud of their city. Ask a local and most times they won't stear you wrong, that's how we found Mrs. Wilks place! We were also told to avoid Paula Dean's place, apparenty she is too busy to keep up with her restaurant... she is even getting into the furniture business now. One more place to try, A martini bar called Jenni and Friends, Great place and reasonable! 100 different Martinis, located on Bull street about 5 blocks up from the riverfront. Jenni works day's and Mary Ann at night, a real fun place. Try a caramel apple, or a PB&J martini... Cheers!

"Awesome location, clean and comfortable"
Great location, room was clean and comfortable though a little dated. Staff was superb-we were celebrating a birthday weekend in Savannah and they gave us a bunch of little extras that really made a difference. Our room was on the corner of the building and had a view of both the river and downtown. The parking was a bit of an issue and expensive, but not enough to ruin our trip.

"Great location & price"
The location is the main asset of this hotel. If you are a confident walker, you can walk anywhere in the historic district from this hotel with no problem. Even if you are not a confident walker, there are at least three different sightseeing trolley services that will take you where you want to go, and you can catch them all at the Visitors Center across the street. I took a train into town, and the hotel is less than ten minutes from the train station by cab. After an overnight train journey, the front desk clerk checked me in at 7:00 AM--maybe she wasn't supposed to do that and I hope I don't get her in trouble, but I was incredibly grateful. The hotel lacks a wow factor and the room was what you'd expect from Courtyard, but it does have a fitness center and an outdoor pool. Agree with other posters that th breakfast was lackluster. It's nine dollars, and then they charged me extra for a bowl of oatmeal! So avoid that during your stay. Thankfully there are plenty of meal options in the area. All in all, a great location and a great stay.
