"Friendly, cozy, and comfortable"
I loved it! Went with a friend, "girls' week" (left our husbands at home) and we had a fabulous time. We liked how small and personal it was, got to know all the staff and alot of the same guests. We formed our own little group. While this is NOT a 5 star with all the pretty folded towels and flowers in your room, we liked how "rustic" it was. The customer service was great and the entertainment committee was friendly and energetic. For anyone who gave a bad review, remember this: DON'T FORGET TO TIP THE STAFF! These people are poor, and a couple of dollars here and there goes a LONG way. I am a bartender myself, and I live on tips, so I know what I'm talking about. Already planning to go back next year. The beach was wonderful, and we could always find a spot with chairs and an umbrella. Special thanks to Risa of the Entertainment Crew who made the whole week a delight with her high energy and exhuberance! The food was average, but tasty. While we did have a minor problem with the ceiling leaking in the bathroom, it was fixed immediately.

"The hotel was beautiful"
We didn't get a tour of the grounds and services. We didn't receive a balcony. It seems we were the only room without a balcony. In main dining hall the food was bad. We tried to book other options for dinner. They stated most nights were full. When we would arrive at dinner. The pace was empty. The people were very friendly and helpful when we had questions. Overall, we enjoyed our trip.

"Loved It"
We arrived at the airport at 9:30PM, December 30 2012. To transfer to the hotel we used Dominican Airport Transfer They charged us $45.00 for the van. We had group of 5 people and. Took us straight to the hotel in no time. We had our personal guide Susan meeting us along with the driver, we didn't expect anything like that, so it was a pleasant surprise. She accompanied us to the resort and also helped us to book couple tours and came to say "good buy" when we were leaving, as we used the same transportation method to get back to the airport. Very reliable and on time. Check in was fast and without any problems. We lived in the rooms 3301 and 3305, it is quite place as it is further away from all the commotion. Rooms were nice and clean. There is a bar in the rooms and soft drinks in the ridge, that got restocked every other day. There is safe, that worked just perfect and nothing got stolen from us. My teenage kids had IPODs, laptops, IPADS, you name it, everything came home safely. Lock you money, passports, electronics in the safe, it is big enough to fit it all. We were leaving small tips for the people we got to know- bartenders and maids and it would pay off, although you do not have to do it About food. We've been to a few resorts in Dominican Republic and Jamaica in the past and I can tell that food was very good. There are 4 restaurants on site, which you need to book. Hibachi and Mexican and Italian, but they are buffet style, but Steak House is full service restaurant and food was amazing. Also you have your regular buffet, that opened for breakfast, lunch and dinner, You would never go hungry It was pretty windy and the ocean was busy and noisy. We spent a lot of time on the ocean, "riding waives", some people brought small surf boards for kids and it was a lot of fun, like sledding in the winter Pool was very clean and swim up bar was busy starting at 11 AM, Entertainment Team was the best. We've been to a lot of resorts, and I can tell you, that those guys do everything possible to keep you entertained and busy since morning till night, they are the best- A+. From crazy games at the pool to archery, aerobics in the water and on the beach, latin dance lessons and nightly shows and dance afterwards, it is amazing, how those guys keep going. If you are looking for the fun- this is the right resort to book. If you have any questions, I will be glad to answer them, We had a lot of fun, it was hard to leave and looking forward to come back sometimes again

"Good but could be better..."
Overall our experience was good. Let me start with the negatives. After an hour of being in our room we developed a leak over the Jacuzzi and from the air conditioning system. We called the front desk and it took forever for someone to come check it out. Even after someone came the leaks still continued all weekend long. We never got to use the Jacuzzi and that was disappointing. The hotel needs maintenance and a lot of old pipes need to be fixed (hence all the leaks). If you go to the privileged side (which we did when they tried to get us to purchase their version of a time share) You will see that it is beautiful and very well maintained. It’s sad that they don’t put as much effort and money into the regular side as they do the privileged, more people would be happier when they left. The 24 hour snack bar wasn’t good they had French fries and chicken in the oven that wasn’t fresh. The casino is dated and a lot of the machines weren’t working, but we did manage to win $50 so that was a plus. Now to the positives we were greeted by all the staff upon arrival and got our “welcome drink” (which was delicious) We met a nice man by the name of Alejandro (he is truly one of the nicest people I have ever met) He told us everything we needed to know upon arrival and assured us if we needed anything to let him know (and we did and he was more than happy to help). The rest of the staff were equally as nice from the maintenance people, maids, bartenders, entertainers etc. The buffets were good for breakfast and lunch. The Japanese restaurant was okay (not what we expected), The steakhouse was amazing as well as the Italian restaurant (my favorites) and the drinks were good too. The pool area was great (but the chairs are old) it was clean and well taken care of and the swim up bar was awesome! The entertainment was great, they really worked hard to keep everyone entertained and happy. The disco was fun but they played the same music every night and by the last night I knew the routines. We met Jacqueline for breakfast to go over the whole time share plan and her partner Fernando (later on) who showed us the privileged side in regards to their version of a time share. What I loved about them was that they weren’t pushy and didn’t try to sell something that wasn’t realistic they tried to work with us but we just weren’t ready to make a commitment. Maybe next time because we definitely plan on returning BUT staying on the privileged side now that we know it is the better side. I would like to Thank everyone who tried and made our stay one to remember.

"absolutely beautiful resort with friendly staff"
We loved the Iberostar Bavaro suites. The resort is breathtaking, the staff is friendly, the grounds are very clean, and the food is plentiful. We loved the setup, the pool area and beach are perfect. The activities at the pool are fun and get everyone involved for a good time. The shows were a bit corny but entertaining and colorful. We partied at all 3 resorts, which are walking distance from each other. The casino is not impressive, but offers an alternative to the nightly shows and bars. The variety of food on the buffets is impressive. The buffet food is good, not great. The ala carte restaurants are very nice change, the food is a step up from the buffets, but not 5 star. Bring your own currency, there is only one atm and it pays out in pesos.
